Multi-Series Courses
Live in Control is an interactive 4-week program designed to help people with diabetes gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to take charge of their health. Vivir en Control is the Spanish-language version of the program, designed to meet the cultural and language needs of Spanish-speaking participants.
These programs use a novel approach to diabetes self-management education that intentionally involves a family member or friend, designated as a Care Supporter, who attends classes alongside the participant. This team approach strengthens social support, enhances communication, and encourages sustainable lifestyle changes.
Together, participants and Care Supporters explore practical ways to:
Eat healthier and stay active
Monitor blood glucose levels
Manage medications
Solve everyday diabetes challenges
Reduce health risks
Set and achieve personal health goals
Organizations receive everything needed to successfully offer the program, including a facilitator manual, digital curriculum materials, and evaluation tools.

Single-Series Courses
A single series course can be delivered in community or clinical settings by approved organizations/individuals who register as adopters of the course.
The ready-to-deliver courses are fully prepared presentations suitable for adult learners.
Each course contains all the resources to deliver the lesson.

Diabetes Fast Start
Diabetes Fast Start a 90-minute introductory diabetes self-management education (DSME) course designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills needed to begin managing diabetes with confidence. This engaging, evidence-based presentation introduces key concepts related to diabetes, healthy eating, physical activity, blood glucose monitoring, medications, risk reduction, and goal setting for daily self-care.
Diabetes Aware
Diabetes Aware is a 60-minute interactive workshop designed to help individuals better understand their risk for developing type 2 diabetes and learn simple steps to protect their health. Through engaging discussions and activities, participants explore common risk factors, warning signs, and the importance of early detection and prevention.
As part of the workshop, participants complete a diabetes risk assessment to identify their personal risk level and gain insight into lifestyle factors that can influence their health. The course provides practical information on healthy eating, physical activity, and other strategies that can help reduce the risk of developing diabetes.
